Cypress Industries Posts Record Financial Growth in 2006

Cypress Industries expands U.S. capabilities, facilities, acquires new equipment and employees

Austin, TX - April 30, 2007

Cypress Industries, an Austin-based electronics, plastics and metal products manufacturer, today announced record growth for 2006, with revenues up 50 percent over 2005. Cypress Industries has significantly increased its capacity for delivering comprehensive design and manufacturing services through the implementation of enhanced plastic injection molding equipment and the addition of its new Fulfillment and Inspection services.

To give its molding customers more options and flexibility, in 2006, Cypress grew its plastic injection molding capabilities through the deployment of additional plastic injection molding machines - the largest being 400 tons. The new equipment not only enables Cypress to run larger molds in-house for projects that require big parts, but adds capacity to current production. With the addition of this equipment, Cypress now has the largest capacity plastic injection molding machine in the Austin area.

“Our customers and their projects drive the need for larger equipment,” says Cypress CEO Tom Lonsdale. “If we can continue to support our customers’ projects in-house with skilled people and updated equipment, we are positioned to build the long-term relationships that enable us to grow alongside our customers.”

Cypress Industries also added its Fulfillment and Inspection Services (FIS) division by absorbing this group from another Austin company, this division resides in 120,000 square feet of warehouse space in north central Austin. The FIS division enables Cypress Industries to control the shipping and logistics of customers’ manufactured products. With the addition of experienced FIS staff and facilities, Cypress provides comprehensive services, beginning with design, through the manufacturing process, to inventory management and logistics. Cypress Industries’ FIS services range from simple pick and ship projects, to custom packaging, complex inventory management and product fulfillment.

Cypress nearly doubled the number of full time employees from 2005 to 2006, reaching more than 35 in 2006 through the addition of sales, operations, engineering, design, accounting, quality and marketing resources to address increased demand for production and manufacturing services.
